Georges Grosset and Georges Perthuis founded Kinoptik in Paris in 1932. The company developed optics for cinema and specialized imaging, including an aerial-photography objective in 1939. Edgard Hugues's large-angular-field patent, assigned to Les Appareils de Precision Kinoptik, describes the three-system designs represented by the Tegea and Super-Tegea models in this catalog. Their production associations remain qualified in the individual lens analyses.
