Carl Zeiss Jena Werra 35 mm rangefinders with interchangeable lenses, from 1958 | 35 mm film rangefinder
From the Werra III of 1958, VEB Carl Zeiss Jena fitted its Werra rangefinders with a bayonet: the lens pushes on from the front and a ring on the camera locks it. Museum and collector sources call it the Werra bayonet or a screw bayonet. The aperture ring stays on the camera while the iris and helicoid sit in the lens, so the two work together. The system stayed small, with the Flektogon 2.8/35, Tessar 2.8/50 and Cardinar 4/100. No public source gives a flange distance or throat diameter.
