Focus Mechanism

G1 stays fixed, so the overall length does not change. G2A moves 4.2435 mm and G2B with the stop moves 4.9011 mm toward the object; the patent says they move independently. It prints only infinity and a near state 247.5954 mm from object to image; its table rounds that to 248 mm and Sigma quotes 25 cm. Positions between them are inferred with G2B keeping a fixed 1.155 ratio to G2A's travel, which is not a factory cam, and MTF is computed only at the two printed states. Distance labels near infinity are unreliable, and the printed image plane is kept with its small focus residual. The iris stays fixed, and the working f-number rises from f/1.50 at infinity to f/1.60 at the near state.
