The L5a doublet (E15/E16) moves toward the image to focus closer, by 1.35 mm at the wide end and up to 8.30 mm at the tele end for a 1.5 m object-to-image distance. The patent publishes infinity data only, so this travel is derived paraxially. The 0.9 m minimum focus Olympus gives for the wide end is not modelled. Intermediate zoom stations follow a derived cam with L2 fixed, not the factory cam.
